Gavin Caves has a range of specialist orthodontic treatments that can help to align and straighten teeth. The options available all use some form of braces and usually depend on the patients circumstances.
This is the main reason why in the first instance we always recommend that you come in for a smile consultation.
Don’t worry, we can help you create that perfect smile!
Fixed Metal Braces
Fixed metal braces work by aligning and straightening teeth and position them to improve the bite. They also aim to improve dental health.
There is also the option to change the colour of the elastics at every visit if subtle silver is not exciting enough!
Metal braces are now the smallest and most comfortable to wear than they have ever been. They are still one of the best and most effective orthodontic appliances for straightening teeth.
Available on the NHS, contact us now for your consultation to see if metal braces are right for you.
Fixed Ceramic Braces
Fixed ceramic braces are tooth-coloured cosmetic brackets and work just the same way as the fixed metal type, however they are almost invisible.
Using ceramic brackets, clear elastics and tooth coloured wires, means it is very discrete and very few people will notice you have braces. This treatment option is very popular with our adult patients.

When you think of ‘orthodontics’ you probably imagine the traditional metal braces, which can put some of our patients off, however there is an increasingly popular alternative to these traditional metal braces – Invisalign®.
As the name suggests, Invisalign clear aligners are almost invisible. They are not fixed to the teeth like the metal or ceramic type. Invisalign are completely removable – for important social occasions, for eat and drinking, and most important of all, tooth-brushing and flossing!

Lingual Incognito / Hidden Braces
Lingual braces work in the same way as traditional metal type, by using gentle force to move the teeth.
Brackets are attached to the back surface of the teeth and then connected together with a thin metal archwire. They work in the same way as the traditional fixed type, however, no one can see them when you smile.
